Band of Horses– Laredo
So I’m taking a break from copious amounts of Red Dead Redemption to give you some ear candy. The song is Laredo, which came off of Band of Horse’s new album that came out today. These dudes kinda look like cowboys and I have spent the last 5 hours riding on digital horses so I thought it would be fitting. Well I got to go, I have a Gossip Girl marathon ahead of me that I just can’t miss.

Washed Out – Feel It All Around
Oh damn, it’s been a while. remember me? I’m the short one. I like music and long walks on the beach, naked preferably. Just you naked though, I’m not into that kind of thing.
Anywho, music and stuff. Yeahhh, I remember finding this song and being like oh shit this song is amazing. Turns out this song is a sort of remix/redux of another song that was released at some point by another band that isn’t as good as this one. If you’re a fan of Passion Pit/Neon Indian sort of thing you’ll probably like this. Actually, you will like this.

So after a week long vacation from everything sort of thing the two of us are back – with a vengeance. Which means, we want to kill you. Well not really. We don’t want to kill you. Hugs are actually being dished out as we speak. Perhaps you’ll get one if you’re good enough, maybe.
So yeah, I really needed that time off from life. Feels pretty good. I’ve got a lot of great Song of the Days and a few articles planned this week. I will write them. We can also have an open discussion about how attractive I am. Also, at some point I’ll be changing somethings around on this here blog so look out for that.

Just an update, me and Wayne are hitting the road! Starting tomorrow we will be going Kerouac on your ass. I apologize ahead of time for the lack of witty posts this week, but we need a road trip something fierce. We will be back Friday-ish, so hopefully one of us will be awake enough to give you guys Song of the Day or possibly a rehashing of our adventures.

Mogwai – Glasgow Mega Snake
While I couldn’t have the faintest clue what the name of the title is implying exactly, I suppose that doesn’t matter. Mogwai is one of those bands that doesn’t appeal to everyone, but if you can wrap your head around this song you will not be disappoint.
The song itself is only about three minutes of pure awesomeness, so don’t be deterred by the seemingly long video. Also, the kid who put this up on youtube deserves a medal for a random picture of an angler fish.

Lil Wayne– Receipt
Remember Tha Carter II? Yea that shit was bomb. You have to hand it to Lil Wayne, that guy went viral when he first got big. For the last couple of years, he has been featured in like 80% of rap songs worth listening to. After Tha Carter 3 the guy has been unstoppable. Lil Wayne is the hardest working rapper in the industry, he puts out more mixtapes then McDonald’s puts out burgers. Unfortunately like any rapper worth his salt, he is doing a little jail time. I have a feeling this summer is going to be kinda lame for rap music when one of it’s biggest stars is locked up. We will miss you Lil Wayne, no blunt cruise would be complete without you.

Rufus Wainwright – The One You Love
Cinco de Mayo and stuff. Yep. It’s Mexico Day. I could give two shits about Mexico (yeaaaa Canada) so here’s Rufus Wainwright who, as far as my knowledge extends, has absolutely nothing to do with Mexico.
Rufus Wainwright just screams of talent. There’s just an ere about him that screams stupidly talented. There’s are other eres there as well, but I don’t really feel like addressing them because they’re pretty obvious. His vocals are pretty similar to Thom Yorke or Mathew Bellamy but don’t let that deter you. He is his own separate entity and his music is much more similar to that of Andrew Bird or St. Vincent.
